INTEGRATED RETAIL TERMINAL
The Phase 3 IRT (Integrated Retail Terminal) is a standalone point-of-sale workstation that automates retail transactions for the United States Postal Service. The IRT allows the Postal Employee to handle retail transactions in an accurate and efficient manner. There are approximately 12,000 systems in use at the present time by the USPS and the Military Post Office System. CSI integrated the hardware along with the special software to meet the unique needs of the USPS.
The IRT has the following capabilities:
- Weight and Rate postal items
- Select Classes of services for Domestic mail
- Price Special Services
- Rate shop to other mail classes
- Validate availability of Services to a ZIP Code
- Select a Class of Service for International mail
- Validate availability of mail classes to a country
- Validate availability of services to a country
- Stores accurate accounting records of all transactions
- Stores records of all acceptance items
- Prints Metered Postage on demand
- Able to print reports of daily transactions
- Able to electronically transmit all accounting information.
- Capable of updating the software as requested by the USPS
(i.e. Rate Changes, New Services or New Mail Classes & etc.)
- Clerks records are Password protected
- Admin functions are Password protected
- Built in Back-Up capibilites
- Software Version verification
- Prints Customer Receipts on demand
- Inventory control capabilities
